The scientific research work conducted by the IATTC staff is divided into four Programs (see organigram):

• Biology;
• Data Collection and Database;
• Ecosystem & Bycatch;
• Stock Assessment; 

The scientific research work is implemented through the IATTC Strategic Science Plan (SSP) which establishes research goals, activities, and priorities.
